Apex Legends GOLD SKINS

Apex Legends, the new battle royale game from EA and Titanfall developer Respawn Entertainment, is now available. It's free-to-play on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, letting you jump in, give it a try, and start earning some skins.

Despite being a free-to-play game, there are of course still ways to spend money. We've already detailed how Apex Legends' monetization works and a Fortnite-style battle pass is still to come in March--but it boils down to customization. You can buy cosmetics that don't impact gameplay; there are skins for your characters and weapons, poses, and banners to help distinguish your in-game look. Among the most desirable items are sure to be the Legendary skins you can collect.

There are a ton of skins in Apex Legends already, and below we've rounded up the Legendary ones to give you a sense for how varied your appearance can be. Each of the game's eight characters has their own; six of those characters are available right out of the gate, with the other two needing to be unlocked. You can grind your way to the needed amount of currency to buy them, or you can use real-world money to purchase a separate type of currency that can also be used to purchase them. Additional characters, or legends, as they're called, are set to be introduced in the future along with new skins, loot, and more.

Although they aren't character skins, a newly released Apex Legends update will introduce some new Valentine's-themed cosmetics for a limited time. You'll be able to pick these up on the store to deck out the look of a weapon or your banner frame. Despite coming from Respawn and featuring a variety of elements from Titanfall--it takes place decades after Titanfall 2--you won't see certain signature features from the series, such as Titans or wallrunning. Apex Legends pits 20 teams of three against each other and introduces some other wrinkles.
